To verify your identity, we use our identity verification processor, Veriff. You'll need to submit some personal information and a valid government-issued ID, and you'll need a smartphone on hand to complete the document and selfie steps.
Completing verification
A few things can interfere with your verification session: VPNs, proxies, and ad blockers can disrupt the connection and cause it to fail. Turning these off before you start will help.
- Start verification. You'll see a "Let's get verified" screen.
- Continue on your smartphone: scan the QR code shown on screen, or request an SMS link sent to your phone number.
- On your smartphone, take a clear photo of your government-issued ID.
- Take a live selfie when prompted.
- Resume on your original device (or stay on the same phone). You'll see a screen showing your documents are processing.
- Wait for review. Most submissions process within minutes; some need manual review and take longer.
- If prompted, provide any additional details requested (e.g., address, citizenship). This depends on the document type you submitted.
- Once verified, you're done and you can start using your Topper account.
Verification must be completed through Veriff. If you're unable to complete the process, we won't be able to verify your account or provide access to our services.
What identity verification errors mean
Please re-submit your ID
Veriff wasn't able to read your document clearly. Retry the submission using good lighting and capturing the full document usually resolves this. For more detailed tips on getting through your session smoothly, see Tips for a successful identification session.
Duplicate account
Topper allows one account per customer. This means an account already exists using the details you submitted. If you believe this is a mistake or need help identifying your existing account, reach out to Support.
Something went wrong
We weren't able to verify some of your details. As a regulated financial services provider, we're not able to open an account without completing verification.
